We know you are specialists in customised adventures.... how do we go about getting a trip customised for us?
Its easy! First have a look at the our adventures page and see which of your trips are closest to what you are after. Then check out the choose your own adventure page and pick the elements that get you excited. Finally send Crank an email or give us a call so they can begin work on making your personal adventure a reality.
How difficult are the trips?
Crank Adventures are well aware that we need to cater for different abilities so we have given you an easy indicator system so you know what to expect. We have designed some easy city tours on flat roads and our hardest trips require a fit cyclist with a keen sense of adventure to be away from civilisation for up to a week. On the our adventures page you will notice our very easy to follow rating system, and remember that if you like the look of a trip but are a little concerned about the rating, get in contact with Crank and we will make it our mission to tailor it to suit.
What sort of people go on Crank's Adventures?
Crank Adventurers have ranged form 9 years old to 59! The only thing that every client of ours has in common is the urge to try something new and get out on a bike and go for a ride. Outgoing people are Crank clients. Many of Crank's clients come back year after year and often bring their friends along. Families are always welcome as long as the kids are old enough to ride a mountain bike and mum and dad are up for the challenge. Most importantly you do not need to be an experienced Adventure Sport athlete to have a go as all tours have experienced instructors/guides to show you the ropes. How's the weather, isn't it too hot?
Yeah, it gets pretty hot sometimes. That's why we start fairly early and have a break in the middle of the day. Luckily, most our tours involve some sort of 'cooling off' activities whether it be fresh mountain streams, waterfalls or a dip in a lake so there's always some respite up ahead. We also have the support vehicle stocked with icy refreshments and we meet up with it at regular intervals to stay hydrated.
What is included?
On Crank's listed adventures we typically include everything from when you join us on day one to when we say goodbye.
Generally all meals are included as well as snacks, refreshments and national park fees. On our customised trips we will advise you well beforehand what is our responsibility and what is yours. On some tours we include almost all meals but sometimes give you the freedom to explore on your own when there are a few options.
You have a minimum number on all your trips. If I'm by myself what are my options?
If you are traveling alone do not hesitate to contact Crank Adventures with your booking because chances are there's someone else with a similar request. If there are no other adventurers booked on the trip and you can not change dates then we will be happy to accommodate you and we will inform you of any extra charges you will have to pay to have a private trip. Please note that if you give us a reasonable amount of notice then we will more than likely be able to find another adventurous soul to join us.
Can you help us with flights?
As a specialist Adventure sports operator based in Chiang Mai, Thailand we generally do not offer any booking services for international or domestic flights. However, we do not mind giving advice in conjunction with getting to and from Chiang Mai to take part in our trips as part of your holiday. We have extensive knowledge on cheap domestic and international flights within South East Asia and we are happy to give you a few tips to get the best price.
