Clients are picked up from their hotel, fitted for shoes and harnesses and then comfortably transported 30km east of Chiang Mai to Mae On and ‘Crazy Horse Buttress’, a world class limestone crag with magnificent views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Clients first learn climbing knots and have all climbing equipment and terminology explained, then experience the exhilaration of top-rope climbing on real rocks. Climbers are started on some easy climbs and get used to the art of climbing, surprising themselves at their natural ability to scale heights at first seemingly impossible. We attempt some harder climbs and possibly even lead climbing at the instructor’s discretion. We crank until lunch time when we take a short trip to a quality local restaurant to satisfy our large appetites that have developed over the course of the morning. After lunch we continue climbing, or if our strength is spent we take a short trip to a local hot spring system to ease our tired and sore muscles. In the late afternoon clients are returned to Chiang Mai and dropped off at their accommodation with a new rock-climbing addiction and a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
